Towards the end of the British rule, the Zamindari Republic Act was not repealed. According to legend, Monkim was the pawn of the zamindars employed by the British in this area. Swadhinacheta Monkim was Titumir's Bhavsbagared. On his instructions, he urged the zamindars not to pay rent. As a result, the concerned zamindar brought a complaint against Makim. Within a few days the gun battle began. Makim was killed. Forced his other followers to emigrate. Later he gave the foundation to his loyalists. According to the legend, the area was then renamed as Charbhadrasan. The state of Pakistan gained independence from the British colony on August 14, 1947. The subsequent Republic Act was enacted in 1950. The zamindar class was abolished. The area belongs to Sadar subdivision under Faridpur district. Khaser Hat adjacent to Gopalpur in Charbhadrasan Upazila was the point of police station and administrative center. Then the police station was shifted to Charhajiganj. MD and Mr. S, M Joynal Abedin established UTDC in 1978 in the north-south of Charbhadrasan Bazar. Later the health complex was established. The police station was shifted from Charhajiganj in 1986. Charbhadrasan Upazila was established in 1983. All sections are setup. 1st Upazila Chairman Mr. Md. Abul Hossain and UNO Mr. Md. Narul Huda. At present activities of all departments are going on in Charbhadrasan upazila. The upazila consists of 4 unions. Namely- Charharirampur, Charjhaukanda, Charbhadrasan, Gazirtek Union.
